The Irish Government has announced the resumption of short stay entry visa processing from 13 September 2021. This category also includes short-term student visas for language courses.
Covid-19 restrictions
All travellers arriving into Ireland must continue to comply fully with measures required by law. These measures include providing one of the following documents for Immigration Control at the point of entry:
- proof of vaccination with one of the recognised vaccines,
- recovery from Covid-19 or
- a negative RT-PCR result from a test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival into the country.
Full details are available here.
Moreover, before departure, you will need to fill out the ‘Covid-19 Passenger Locator Form’. This form may be used by Irish health authorities to contact you to verify your location in Ireland. It will also help contact tracers to contact you if there is a confirmed case of coronavirus on your flight. People can face a fine of up to €2,500 or six months in prison if they do not complete this form or provide false or misleading information.
All remaining Covid-19 restrictions on entry visa and preclearance processing, which were brought in as a necessary interim measure to help reduce the spread of the virus, have now been lifted.
