Vitaliy about Master of IT joint program

Why joint program

I chose the joint Master of IT programme between SPbPU in St. Petersburg and WelTec in Wellington because it was the only gateway to an incredible dream — moving to New Zealand. And not only for myself but also for my family. This Level 9 programme allows students to work 20 hours per week, and their partner to work full-time (40 hours). In addition it gives benefits for attending kindergartens and schools for children.

Another big advantage of this programme is that you can start your studies from home in comfortable conditions online. By “comfortable conditions,” I mean you don’t have extra expenses on housing or food, and your living environment remains the same. Through this you save a good amount of money. At the same time, the education is in English language, which was a new experience for me and gave me a good sense of what to expect when continuing my studies at WelTec, New Zealand.

First semester online

I liked the way the study online process was organized at the Polytechnic University in St. Petersburg. The schedule, the number of classes, the lecturers, the content of the subjects. There was a lot of new information and tools. Moreover, for me it also served as good training for learning new things in a non-native language. I particularly enjoyed the teamwork on the course project and its final presentation.

I believe the programme is quite well-designed. With enough effort put into studying, it’s entirely manageable. Of course, I often spent weekends doing homework and reviewing material that I didn’t understand right away.

About Kiwi Education

I would like to highlight the important role that Kiwi Education played on my way to New Zealand. Especially, Serj, the coordinator of the whole program. He manages a large joint education project with great efficiency. Serj carefully and fairly selects candidates for the programme and never pushes the product. Instead, he provides an honest assessment of your prospects. He always participate in the community life. He holds online meetings, and personally steps in when students face difficulties or doubts. I say this from personal experience.

I would also like to acknowledge the work of the visa consultant, Ksenia. She assisted me after I completed my online studies in St. Petersburg and up until I received my visa. She patiently and professionally reviewed all my documents for the visa application and gave helpful advice on how to prepare them.

I’m truly glad that Kiwi Education became part of my life.

I would be glad to make new contacts with those who are interested in this journey. My contact information is below
