Marcelo Muramoto & Karen Assahi

Karen and her husband Marcelo decided it was time for a life change, and they chose New Zealand as their destination. Together with Kiwi Education, we found the best option that suited their goals. Marcelo decided to pursue a Graduate Diploma in Project Management (Level 7) at the Ara Institute of Canterbury in Christchurch, and Karen took the opportunity to improve her English by enrolling in a course at CCEL.

Marcelo Shares His Experience in New Zealand

“What I’ve enjoyed the most about this new experience is actually the country as a whole! Each day, I feel a stronger desire to stay here.

I believe the most challenging part of living abroad is related to work — mainly because of the technical vocabulary we’re not familiar with. So, in that area, adapting took a bit more time.

Kiwi Education has always been extremely helpful — not just before I enrolled, but all the way through to the completion of my course. I definitely recommend them!”

“My advice for anyone considering an exchange program is: have a plan — a clear step-by-step outline of your goals. Without a target and a plan, it will be much harder to achieve what you want.”

Karen shares a bit about her experience:

“What I love most about New Zealand is the safety, the peaceful lifestyle, the closeness to nature, and the breathtaking landscapes!
I’ve become someone who really enjoys spending time outdoors and visiting places that bring me peace.

Being in another country definitely has its challenges — especially the language barrier, since communication is key to everything. But little by little, you learn and adapt, and the positive aspects of the country make it all worthwhile!

The Kiwi Education team is amazing! I highly recommend them! Each department has a specialist who offers excellent support, they respond quickly, and they’re always available when I need help.

A few tips for anyone planning to come: be open to working in any field, have a solid financial backup because you might not find a job right away, and make the most of everything New Zealand has to offer!”

After completing his course, Marcelo applied for the Post-Study Work Visa and is now working in his field. He and Karen moved to Whangārei to keep exploring even more of this beautiful country.

Thank you guys so much for your trust. We’ll always be cheering for your happiness and success! We hope you continue chasing your dreams — and remember, you can always count on us!
