Who Needs Insurance

When obtaining a student visa to New Zealand, insurance is compulsory. This condition is written in the visa itself. The insurance must be valid at least until the end of the study period or, better, until the end of the visa validity period, as required by the educational institutions. We recommend opening insurance from the date of departure, so you can also ensure your baggage.

Types Of Insurance

New Zealand educational institutions most often do not accept foreign insurance, so it is better to take care of buying insurance from local insurance companies:

How To Arrange

You can get insurance through Kiwi Education or through an education provider. We do not recommend taking insurance through education providers, since their cost of insurance is more expensive than the standard one.

Arrangement Through Kiwi Education

Kiwi Education works with all insurance companies listed above. After obtaining a visa and purchasing a ticket, we help arrange student insurance, as well as insurance for family members. We work with insurance companies directly, so we don’t charge any additional fees.

Arrangement Through Education Provider

In order to arrange insurance through the education provider, you need to indicate this in the enrolment application form. The cost of insurance will be included in the tuition fees. But keep in mind that the price can be much higher.

Conditions

In general, all insurance companies offer approximately the same conditions for student rates, only the prices differ. In addition, any insurance policy is designed to cover costs arising from unforeseen events, emergency situations, emergency treatment. The insurance does not cover expenses or losses arising from irresponsible actions (for example, leaving things unattended or driving drunk). Insurance is also not intended to cover the cost of preventive treatment.
