English Language Courses in the Philippines

Why the Philippines?

Every year, tens of thousands of students from different countries come to the Philippines to study English language. Don’t be surprised, English is an official language and is widely spoken here. As someone once said: “the Philippines is Asia, where everything is in English“. And that’s absolutely true.

The Philippines is indeed an English-speaking country. According to EF English Level Proficiency 2024 the Philippines ranks 2nd among Asian countries, just after Singapore, and 22nd globally among countries where English is not the first language. And English language schools have been operating here for more than 20 years, welcoming thousands of people of all ages and nationalities every year.

Why do so many students prefer Philippines when it comes to studying English?

Get started fast: Visa-free or Simple entry

For many nationalities entry to the Philippines is visa-free. There is a good chance that you could arrive as soon as tomorrow, if you wanted to. And if you do need a visa before arrival, don’t worry – the process is usually straightforward and takes just 3 to 10 days.

Individual attention, Intensity, Faster results

Individual (1-on-1) classes are always included in a program. Something that is rare and very expensive in other countries. In most schools, at least 50% of classes are individual.

Most programs include 35 – 50 classes per week, with a typical daily schedule offering 3-6 individual classes + 2-6 group classes. You can choose preferred intensity. Of course, there are schools with less intensive programs.

Save Money

The total price for everything combined (study + accommodation + meals + local fees + visas etc.) is often lower than in US, Canada, UK, Australia or New Zealand. Which makes the Philippines number one choice for many students.

In fact, many students say they get twice as many classes, including 1-on-1 lessons, and pay less – or at worst, the same.

Average price range:

        • US$175–275 / week – course fee (depends on school and program intensity)
        • US$175–325 / week – on campus accommodation + 3 meals a day (including weekends) + access to all the facilities (gym, pool, events etc.)
        • US$55–100 / week (approx.) – local fees, depending on the number of weeks (the more weeks you book, the lower the weekly rate). Local fees include: student documentation, visa extensions, books, utilities, service / campus maintenance, airport pickup.
